Rock guitar lessons from Los Angeles Guitar Academy will help your technique in rock, jazz, blues, or acoustic guitar grow faster and with better retention. We blend in classical technique for better control, dexterity, and familiarity with the fingerboard. We add in a bit of Flamenco training to build up your forearm’s extensor muscles, which will greatly improve your right-hand technique. Finally, to give you an edge in the competitive world of rock guitar music, we teach you to read written scores well, and add some music theory for better knowledge of the intervals, harmonic and melodic structure that will make improvisation and songwriting much easier. With our rock guitar courses, music theory rocks!
Learning to play by ear is an important component of our rock guitar program. Incorporating elements of music theory and ear training, we teach you to hear music, then duplicate the song on your guitar. With this powerful tool, you can learn to play the music of many popular rock and pop artists on your guitar, including Muse, Nickelback, The Misfits, Metallica, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Björk, Kanye West, Shiny Toy Guns, Jack Johnson, John Mayer, Katy Perry, and more! Los Angeles Guitar Academy rock guitar teachers have worked with some of the top names in the rock music, jazz, hip-hop and rap, country, blues, and folk music scene.
We have taught many different styles of rock guitarists, from indie to jazz-influenced to hip-hop to thrash metal, and everything between. We teach both electric and acoustic guitarists. Just ask us, and we will design a program to meet your specifications.
Rock, jazz, blues, pop, country and acoustic guitar lessons are available in our studios, located throughout the Los Angeles area, and through private webcam guitar lessons.
