Regular attendance is of the utmost importance so that students can achieve ideal results. LAGA’s teaching philosophy advocates consistent attendance, along with regular study and practice at home. Students should take their lesson schedules and practice times very seriously. They should arrive a few minutes early, well-rested and focused. This will allow time for the student to do his or her warm-up routine–done without a guitar–to get his or her muscles stretched and warmed up in order to decrease their chance of injury.
Cancellations and Make-up Lessons:
Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the lesson. To reschedule a lesson, students notify us using the rescheduling form in their online members’ area (or contact us directly). The make-up lesson for the canceled lesson must be scheduled on one of the make-up days available for that month. Make-up lessons can be scheduled on webcam or in person, based on availability. It must be taken within one month of the missed lesson. Once scheduled, make-up lessons cannot be canceled or postponed.
Only one make-up lesson will be allowed for cancellations within a payment cycle (every four weeks). If you will not be able to attend more than one lesson in a cycle, please cancel your subscription before the payment processing day. Cancellation of a subscription will result in the student being placed on the waiting list.
Lesson materials are available on the main page within their online account. Our students download the related materials by logging in with the login information they set up upon registration.
If you think you might be contagious, please be courteous (to your teacher AND all the other students) and cancel the lesson.*
* Update: All studio lessons are canceled until further notice due to COVID-19.
Guitar lessons take place in the teachers’ personal studios, located in Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, Van Nuys, and Pasadena. Upon request, and depending on the performance and rehearsal schedule of the instructors, the lessons can be conducted in the students’ homes for an additional fee.
Based on their interest and experience, our students have the opportunity to become teaching assistants at LAGA. In order to be eligible for a teaching assistantship, students must be at an upper-intermediate to advanced level and have completed the Teaching Assistantship requirements successfully.
