Meet Your San Diego Guitar Teacher, Barry Jaquess, M.M., B.M.
Not only is Barry Jaquess a fine classical guitar performer, but he’s also an engaging teacher who can explain even difficult musical concepts so that anyone can grasp them. Students commend Barry for his patience as well as for his knowledge.
Knowledge of the classical guitar Barry has. He earned a Masters of Music degree from USC where he studied with guitar masters Scott Tennant, Jim Smith, and Pepe Romero. His mastery of the classical guitar garnered him a trip to Paris, where he recorded an album which featured the works of Fernando Sor, a French composer whose works number among the most-prized selections in the classical guitar repertoire.
A prize winner in the American String Teachers Association guitar competition, Barry has become a high-demand performer in the San Diego area. His performances fuse traditional classical guitar pieces with Latin, jazz, blues, and Eastern European music.
