Students can choose from three different weekly lesson schedules. Schedule A consists of one-hour guitar lessons that are conducted once a week. Schedule B consists of two hours of lessons per week, conducted either as one two-hour lesson or two one-hour lessons every week. Schedule C consists of three hours of lessons per week.  This rigorous schedule  is aimed at professional guitarists and advanced level students. 

The rates for classical guitar lessons, Flamenco guitar lessons, Latin-American guitar lessons, and Competition/Audition Preparation are $60.00 per hour for Schedule C, $70.00 per hour for Schedule B, and $80.00 per hour for Schedule A. The rates for Composition, Ear training, Music Theory, Arranging, Film Scoring, Improvisation and Song Writing classes are $75.00 per hour for Schedule C, $85.00 per hour for Schedule B, and $100.00 per hour for Schedule A. The rate for all lessons with our teaching assistants is $50.00 per hour for all  schedules.

Payments are made for a four-week lesson series and are due on the first lesson of each series. The payments that are made later than the first lesson will incur a late fee of $30.00. The returned check fee for all schedules is $35.00.

Regular attendance is of utmost importance for the student to achieve optimal results. LAGA's teaching philosophy advocates consistent attendance, along with home practice and study. Students should take their lesson schedules and practice times very seriously. They should arrive a few minutes early, well-rested and focused.  This will allow time for the student to do his or her warm-up routine--done without a guitar--to get his or her muscles stretched and warmed up in order to decrease their chance of injury.

Cancellations must be made twenty-four hours prior to the lesson. Make-up lessons must be scheduled on one of the make-up days available for that month, and may be given through the online platform or in person. based on availability. The no-show fee and the fees for cancellations that are less then twenty-four hours in advance of the scheduled lesson are $40.00, $35.00, and $30.00 for Schedule A, Schedule B, and Schedule C, respectively.

Students have four options if they miss a class:
1. to make it up on another day,
2. to make it up on our online platform
3. to make it up as a double session (the preferred option for many of our students who travel a great distance to attend class)
4. to not make it up at all by paying a no-show fee

Lesson materials are available on the class materials. Our students download the materials for their levels by logging in with the passwords they receive after registering, selecting the needed material, and then downloading it onto their computer. 

If you think you might be contagious, please be kind enough (to your teacher AND all the other students) to cancel the lesson.  For students who have to cancel due to acute illnesses, the policy regarding last-minute cancellations will not apply.

Reminder e-mails will be sent prior to lessons. These e-mails are a courtesy reminder and are not intended to schedule your lessons or payments. Please keep track of both.

Guitar lessons take place in the teachers' personal studios, located in Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, Van Nuys, and Pasadena. Upon request, and depending on the performance and rehearsal schedule of the instructors, the lessons can be conducted in the students' homes for an additional fee of $40 per half-hour driving time. e.g., an additional fee of two trips x $40.00 = $80.00 per lesson, if the teacher drives one-half hour to get to your home.

Based on their interest and experience, our students have the opportunity to become teaching assistants at LAGA. In order to be eligible for a teaching assistantship, students must be at an upper-intermediate to advanced level and have completed the Teaching Assistantship requirements successfully.
